Help!! Lost in sea of fake friends? I can't seem to find a true friend?

I feel lonely in highschool even though I have a big group of friends to hang out with. People invite me to parties and I am like by almost everyone. I always feel lonely, like I'm not anyones true friend. I really do try to make true friends but they never are compatible. I must admit that I am shy and a bit of a nerd ( I have a 4.71 GPA and I study too much sometimes). If I really get to know a person I can be one of the loudest and fun-loving person you'll ever meet. I used to have a best friend but she changed alot and hangs out with the popular,bratty, and rude kids. We had been best friends for almost 7 years. I really miss having that friend I know I can call.I am thinking of going to a brand new highschool that is opening next year in hopes of starting over and finding a true friend but my parents don't want me to go to this new school and are trying everything to keep me at my school where I know I don't have any true friends. What should I do? What if the new school's worse?

you can also try talking to others by introducing yourself, that can help with the shyness.

Reply:I am glad that you posted this question. I have a lot of friends and I had never thought about this but today. You and I are like a little different. My friends I dnt know they just seem to start being FAKE to me. Because one of my friends is always talking about all of our friends together, and what makes me think she wont do the same? So, I just think it doesn't matter where you go, there will always be people who come in and out of your lives to make you the stronger person that you are. I mean there are really no true friends and no one you can trust. I think think the only person I can truly trust is my brother, and in fact we are best friends. But for your parent i think you should just do what you want to do. In the end you wouldn't want to regret what you shoulda,coulda,woulda done. Do what you feel is right for you.


I think if you think you may find someone true then you should go for it. But to tell you the truth there will never be a true person you can trust and never talk about you behind your back, especially girls, they are always catty and talk about you, friends or not. So, your only true friend is "me,myself,and I" you are your best friend in the end.

How do you make friends and find fun?

My best friend of 5 years is pregnant and starting a family. I hung out with her everyday for 5 years and always had something to do. she has been my only female friend but now she is unable to do the same things and I rarely see her. I realized that I depended on her for fun. I hung around the friends she met without even trying to make my own friends. After she got pregnant I hung around my ex boyfriend for a year spent all day with him (when not working) and basically hung with his friends. Now that we are broken up I feel really lonely. I was so attached to them I guess I didnt see the importance of making friends. Now I just sit around bored because I have no friends and arent really sure how to make them. I am also really bored just sitting in the house. How do you meet new people and make friends (I am really shy with strangers). Help I'm dying of lonliness and boredom!

How do you make friends and find fun?
Create oppertunities: take up a hobby that requires a lot of people, such as learning a new language (Chinese is great because it's new and hard for everyone), or playing a group sport (volleyball is fun).





If there's anyone that you are vaguely acquainted with but might want to get to know better, suggest that the two of you go out shopping or do something fun for a day. That creates a bond and if it goes well, you can build up a friendship.





Meeting people over the internet is very risky, but if you're feeling lonely it's always nice to talk to people. Just google for chat rooms to make friends in, maybe you can even enter your location to find out if there are chat groups for people near you.





Doing some charity work is always a nice way to meet people, either people you work with or the people you work for.





But most of all, embrace every oppertunity to meet someone new or get to know someone better. Think positively.

Reply:My best friend and I have known eachother for 5 years and in high school we did everything together, but after high school we kinda went our seperate ways cause she went off to college and I moved, but we try and see eachother as much as we can. I made tons of friends in high school and some of them were her friends and some of then were my friends and then we became this huge group.... I'm goin through the kinda same thing. My really good friend got married and I never see her cause her husband is controlling and I've realized to hang with others. just be yourself. go to classes on your favorite things and look for people who have the same commen things with you.
Reply:try taking a class at a ymca or something. they have classes for people of all ages and you can meet other who are interested in what you are too. also it'll cut down on awk introdutions and icebreakers
Reply:well if youre really shy with strangers thats your problem. just be more outgoing and push down your wall between you and the rest of the world. if your more outgoing then everything will fall into place and you will find yourself having more friends than you want.......good luck
Reply:that sucks! im sorry about that :( well what kind of things r u interested in? if you like reading then go2 the library and try 2 look 4 someone,when u find sum1 who likes nice (and is preferably by themselves) casually ask if they could recommend any books.. the conversation might go further? thats just one example i dont know what u like doing but its a good place 2 start because ur going to find peole with the same intrests as u, if u like sports then g2 a game etc... u could also try going to bars and seeing if u can pick up n e 1 lol.... maybe get a new job even? good luck hope u find someone!! :)

Reply:You have to come out your shell. If you have a great personality and your a really nice person, friends will come to you easy. If your not uncomfortable with going somewhere alone, you are bound to meet a person, especially a guy.

Just don't talk to either one of them right now. Maybe they need some time to be alone, and didn't know any other way to break it to you. They figure here's an opportunity to get her to leave us alone. Yes you are hurting, but time heals all wounds. Give them the space they need, and focus your time on other things that they would normally have nothing to do with. Why should you be sad all the time, crying, and wondering why.
