Join an environmental group. My 8 year old is in a young naturalist club. We get along with all of the parents. I have met great friends in environmental studies classes and in a mediation group and in a community garden.
Reply:I've found good ones at college (since I'm in the eco dorm), but there are plenty of environmentalists out there...you could check out a local political party meeting of a Green group or something, join an organization like the Sierra Club, and if you're feeling really adventurous, organize a fund-raiser for saving the rain forest somehow and ask people to help you out! Good luck!
Reply:Most of the people you have described are tree hugging hippies who are unemployed. Try quitting your job and joining Greenpeace.

Reply:I recommend checking out your local new age bookstore...talk to the clerks, check out the community boards.
Reply:Try the local co-op or health food store, organic farmers markets, Yoga classes, try looking online for the NRDC, RAN, greenpeace, etc. Also check out meetup.com for local groups, as well as yahoo local groups! The unitarian universalist church might have an enviornmental group that meets there as well. Look in the phone book %26amp; call the sexton he/she will be able to tell you the meeting schedule of the church hall's
